Reward put up for person who killed 15-year-old Schenectady boy


SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - Authorities are still investigating the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old high school basketball player in Schenectady, and a $1,000 reward is now being offered for the person responsible for this shooting.

Pastor Charlie Muller announced Tuesday he is offering a $1,000 reward for the person who shot 15-year-old Eddie Stanley early Sunday moring.

Police found that Stanley had been shot five times in the chest in a Schenectady apartment when officers responded to a report of a fight at a party around 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

Stanley was taken to a Ellis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Neighbors say the fight occurred during a party located at 730 Bridge St. in Schenectady where Stanley was working as a disc jockey.

Stanley was a sophomore at Schenectady High School, where he was considered a rising star on the varsity basketball team.

Police say no one has been arrested yet. They have closed off the section of Bridge St. where the shooting occurred, as evidence is tagged.
