ALBANY, N.Y. - Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings and the City of Albany announced the schedule of events for the 63rd annual Albany Tulip Festival during a press conference on Tuesday morning.
Tulip Festival runs May 7-8 this year.
This year, Cold War Kids headlines the performance list. Dan Mangan, Sam Roberts Band, They Might Be Gypsies, Teagan & the Tweets, Matthew Carefully, and Patti Rothberg & Wet Paint are also set to perform on Saturday, May 7.
The musical performances continue on Sunday, May 8, with Bryan Thomas, The Rodeo Barons, Black Mountain Symphony, Sgt. Dunbar & The Hobo Banned, Blotto, and Marrakesh Express will perform.
Other activities include a Zumba! class on Sunday morning, Tulip Queen Coronation, Mother of the Year award, KidZone with musical performances and other kids' activities... and of course, thousands of tulips!
One big change to this year's Tulip Festival is that alcohol beverages will not be allowed in to the event, as they have in past years. Coolers with food and non-alcoholic beverages will still be allowed.
Mayor Jennings announce that there will be a beer garden for people who want to drink responsibly.
