ALBANY, N.Y. - The New York Lottery has confirmed with News10 that the owner of the winning Mega Millions ticket, worth $319 million, has come forward to claim their prize on Tuesday.
The owners of the ticket are a group of New York state workers who hit Saturday's $319 million Mega Millions jackpot.
A lotto spokesperson say they hope to schedule the check presentation for Thursday morning.
Media reports have said seven workers at the state's Division of Housing and Community Renewal picked the lucky numbers.
Agency lawyer Dave Diamond says he knows some of the winners. He wouldn't identify them.
He said Monday outside agency headquarters that people "think it's great that they won." The ticket was sold only a few doors down at Coulson's convenience store.
Store owner Steve Hutchins says everybody's talking about it. But as far as the winners go? He's just hearing the same talk others are.
It's the fifth-largest in the multistate game's history.
