Marie Luby joined WTEN as a reporter in July of 2009. A Southern Tier native, Marie is thrilled to be back in upstate New York and just a short drive from her family.
Before WTEN, Marie spent two years as an anchor and reporter at the CBS affiliate in Hazard, Kentucky. No, she did not meet the Dukes ... but she is a proud Duchess of the city! Marie's most memorable time at WYMT was being a voice for hundreds of people left homeless after the devastating floods of May 2009. Victims and volunteers taught her unforgettable lessons in compassion and perseverance.
Marie graduated magna cum laude from Ithaca College in 2007 with a B.A. in journalism and minor in sociology. She is a recipient of the Jessica Savitch Communications Scholarship.
Marie's work has been recognized by the Associated Press in Kentucky and New York, as well as by the Society of Professional Journalists.
Marie is an avid runner and loves to watch the Yankees win! She believes in giving back, and donates her time to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region.
If you would like to contact Marie, please e-mail her at: email@example.com.
