ALBANY, N.Y. -- A symbol of America's strength and unity in the days after the terror attacks of September 11th, is on display this week in Albany.
The national 9/11 flag is hanging in the Legislative Office Building at the Empire State Plaza.
The 30 foot flag was flying at a construction site across from ground zero on the day of the attack.
It was pulled torn and tattered from the rubble and was seen on television and in pictures around the world in the days after the attack.
Julia Mudloff, the 9/11 national flag tour director, says the flag needs to be preserved. "It's an American treasure. It's about the size of the Star Spangled Banner but this is authenticated that this flag was hanging before, during and after the attacks. This is a flag that survived an attack on us soil."
Holding the flag up at the LOB are two replicas of the twin towers.
If you'd like to see the flag for yourself, it's on display from 9 to 5 through Friday.
