Steve Ammerman co-anchors NEWS10 in the morning from 5:00am to 7:00am. Steve first joined the NEWS10 team in July of 1997.
Before becoming a morning anchor, Steve has anchored NEWS10 at 6pm and 11pm, NEWS10 @ Noon, and NEWS10 on the Weekend. He also served as a general assignment reporter. Steve's reporting has taken him across the Capital Region and throughout the Northeast, including to New York City to cover the tragic events of 9/11, and to Washington, D.C. following the arrests of two terrorist suspects in Albany. Steve has also reported extensively on politics and issues at the Capitol in Albany.
Steve originally hails from the Midwest. Growing up in Arkansas City, Kansas, he graduated from the William Allen White School of Journalism at the University of Kansas, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast News. Steve is also active in the community. He serves on the Board of Directors for the AIDS Council of Northeastern New York, rappelled 18 stories down the side of a downtown Albany building to raise money for the Special Olympics and has volunteered his time to HVCC's Marketing Department Advisory Committee.
