IF I COULD TALK

What would you say if you could see me here.
I'd hold my breath and quiet my fear.

Please look at me, don't turn away.
Just touch my cage and brighten my day.

Reach out your hand and so gently touch,
If you take me home, I won't ask for much.

Life's too short not to feel your love.
Free me now to fly like a dove.

It's been so long since I've felt the sun.
Let's go outside….to feel the breeze as I run.

To be in your home, would be a dream come true.
I could never imagine, a life without you.

I'd sit by your side and make you smile.
You'd forget your problems….just for a while.

Just give me a chance to be by your side.
We'll be partners in life, I won't have to hide.

I'll make you smile, I'll make you feel good.
You'll have someone to be with, the way it should.

You've seen my face and looked into my eyes.
Please don't turn away….no more good-byes.

Just open my door and set me free.
Take me with you, how happy I'd be.
