Pet Connection Poem - 1992

This poem is dedicated to all the pets who will never know what love is on this Christmas
Eve...

                                 Dec. 24th, 1992
                                   I NEED YOU

When I open my eyes, I feel coldness and fear,
I've done nothing wrong, why am I here ?

My future is dark, with no place to hide.
Free me from this place and I'll be by your side.

This cage dies surround me, with no place to run,
Though with many around, I still have no fun.

As you look to my eyes, you'll see my tears,
For I weep for you, please love me for years.

Just give me a chance, please stay, don't go.
If you part with me now, I may never grow.

Here's my promise for you, it comes from my heart.
I'll be your friend forever, I will never depart.

Though I may be old or young, I'll always be true,
Just give me a chance at home, and we'll walk as two.

With just a wag of your tail, or a purr from your heart,
You know that I'll love you, right from the start.

When you come home from work, with no one to see,
I'll be there for you, with just a turn of your key.

When your day is bad, and you need peace for a while,
I'll run right up to you, and make you smile.

My dreams with you are many, like the stars above,
I know they will come true, if you give me your LOVE !
