ALBANY - According to a new Quinnipiac poll released Tuesday, a majority of New York State voters support gay marriage.
Though a majority support the recently passed same sex marriage, there is an age gap and a religious gap when it comes to the level of support.
Overall 54% of New York voters are in favor of the law, 40% opposed. But 70% of voters under the age of 35 support it. And 57% of voters older than 65-years-old oppose same sex marriage.
White Catholics are split right down the middle in support of the new law 48% to 48%.
