Albany police officer charged with DWI


ALBANY, N.Y. - An Albany police officer was arraigned Wednesday morning for being charged in December with DWI after police said he was found sleeping in his car on I-787.

Officer Brian Lutz was arrested on December 11th, after a driver-by reported to police there was a stopped car in a highway lanes. Police found Lutz in his SUV, which was idling in park with the headlights on and the door open with vomit nearby. Once Lutz was woken up, he was asked to pull to the side of the highway but drove away instead. He was eventually stopped on Broadway.

Officer Lutz is being charged with a misdemeanor and a traffic violation for parking on pavement.
