More snow for upstate NY

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Heavy snow has caused numerous accidents on Albany-area roads as commuters across upstate New York deal with another winter storm expected to dump more than a foot of snow on some parts of the region.

The National Weather Service has issued winter storm warnings Friday for much of the region. Meteorologists say eastern sections of the state around Albany are expected to get 6 to 12 inches of snow, with some areas north of the city getting as much as 16 inches.

The western half of the state is expected to get up to 10 inches of snow. Winds could gust to 35 mph in some areas.

Many upstate school districts are on winter break this week, but scores of others from the Southern Tier to the Hudson Valley have canceled classes or delayed their start.
