WILTON, N.Y. -- A portion of I-87 southbound, between Exits 15 and 16, has reopened following a car/pedestrian accident.
The NYSDOT says the portion of the Northway affected will remained closed until 4:30 a.m. Tuesday while authorities investigated the incident.
A NEWS10 staffer on scene noticed numerous emergency vehicles and police tape. Troopers were seen examining a pulled-over vehicle, as well as an area off the side of the highway.
The accident happened shortly after 7 p.m.
Traffic on that stretch of the Northway is being detoured off Exit 15, to cross the interstate via Route 50.
