BOSTON, Mass. -- Smokers in Massachusetts could soon start seeing new warning signs on cigarette display cases.
The state's Public Health Department wants stores to use graphic pictures of diseased lungs, damaged brains, and stained teeth to show the dangers of tobacco use.
Under the proposal, stores that don't place the signs at their cigarette displays could face fines.
The state's Public Health Council would have to approve the signs before they're put in place.
