LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. -- Siena basketball star Ronald Moore was arrested and accused of drunk driving in the Town of Colonie early Sunday morning, police reported.

Colonie Police say the four-year starting point guard was pulled over around 3 a.m. near the Siena campus after he was noticed running a red light and committing several traffic violations.

During the stop, officers noted he smelled of alcohol, slurred his speech and had bloodshot eyes.

After failing multiple field sobriety tests, he was ticketed for the traffic violations, including aggravated unlicensed operation, and was taken into custody. This is his 1st offense.

Moore, 21, apparently had a BAC of 0.12 at the time of his arrest.

Attorney Thomas Carr, who routinely represents drivers facing DWI, told NEWS10 what Moore can expect next.

"The Albany DA's office has a very strict policy about DWI's," Carr said. "So before they normally will even entertain any kind of a plea reduction, they're going to want him to undergo an alcohol evaluation. He'll have to be evaluated to see does he have issues with alcohol? Does he have an addiction? Is treatment necessary? Is treatment indicated?"

Moore is originally from Consohocken, Pennsylvania. He is currently a senior at Siena and will graduate in May.

He ended his collegiate playing career this year after leading the Saints to their 3rd straight MAAC championship and 3rd straight NCAA tournament appearance. Moore was named a 1st Team All-MAAC performer as a senior after he finished among the nation's leaders in assists per game.

Moore pleaded not guilty to charges of driving while intoxicated during an appearance in Colonie Town Court Monday night. He appeared with his attorney and several Siena officials by his side.

Moore will be back in court in May.
